Doula support for the entire reproductive life cycle.

During my DONA International Birth Doula Training, I called my Grandma on one of my lunch breaks and asked her about her birthing experience. That conversation, which I will always cherish, led her to remembering other stories, and she later told me about her Grandma, Hannah Hyams. She told me about the ways in which I am like Grandma Hannah, and I was so honoured and excited and amazed by how much love I could feel for a woman I had never met, had hardly ever even thought about except in very abstract ways. I hope that in keeping her name, Hyams - a Hebrew name meaning Life - close, I can draw on her spirit and continue to emulate her and the way she made my precious Grandma feel so held and loved without judgement.
